And still is on another computer. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit. Pro Plus is a very limited distribution bundle! The only real “3-pack” of Office is Home and Student. If you have a 3 pack of Pro Plus there are 3 possible scenarios I know of for this type of error:.

First, you do have a legal license for Pro Plus. In that case you have to do a phone activation. When you phone in, don’t reply to the prompts until they give you the option of talking to a live service rep. They may be able to help you. Second, you misread the package. Pro Plus is only licensed for use on 2 computers, but the package also includes a reference to the 3 use Home and Student license.

It is easy to misinterpret this statement on the package. Finally, the most likely. You bought a “3 pack” from someone online who is not an official MS seller. They may look like it, and the packaging can be very convincing, but are not legal Office licenses. In that case they are re selling product key they bought on a “Volume” license. This type of license does not allow them to sell the key to someone outside of the company. Eventually MS figures out what they are doing and disable the product key, giving this sort of error when you try to re-install even on the same computer.

There is another way for you to figure out the problem is by installing on more than 2 or 3 computers. The key will be good for use on only 2 or 3 different computers and when you go past that limit you get a different error. I will be yanking all the boxes and disks from the closet today to verify what is installed on what machines. The key issue for me is that it has been working for months and suddenly started the activation countdown. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

Microsoft office 2010 product key not valid free

My computer originally had Windows 7, Office About 6 months ago, the computer upgraded to Windows About 2 months ago, in an attempt to fix problems with Office, I tried to uninstall and reinstall Office It reinstalled, but says the key is not valid.

As I wish to retain Office , what do I need to do? Do I need to buy Office again, just for the key? Be cool!

However, the Office keys that I have appear to say: “Sorry, this isn’t a Microsoft Office product key. You may be entering a product key from another version of Office” I verified the product keys prior to replacing the hard drive, so I know that they are the same ones I installed back in I know that the product is no longer under support, but at least I should be able to reinstall it using the same keys that were working on the old hard drive I still have access to the old installation as that hard drive is still readable if needed Product Keys are for Office Professional Plus Originally, I installed from a download from MS.

I bought this laptop in March this year and was using Office fine until about a week ago when it started to ask for the product key. How did this happen? Does it affect my work or how long am I able to use it?

The problem is that I bought this laptop in my home country and now I am in a different country continuing my studies therefore it’s hard for me to go to the shop again and ask the seller about it. This is a 3 pack of office It has been working for nearly 3 years.

It has been working on this computer for nearly 10 months. And now it can’t activate. Just weird. In reply to jq85’s post on October 12, Like it was already activated and registered. I assumed that the shop I bought the laptop from used a valid product key and everything was fine. It’s just suddenly start popping up for a product key like a week ago.

Right now I am using it as normal, I can still open and edit my documents. I’m just afraid until when I can use it? Does it have an expiry date and then I can’t access it at all? I have uninstalled , reinstalled, and attempted to activate. NO JOY. Anybody have a clue? Rohn MVP. If you have a 3 pack of Pro Plus there are 3 possible scenarios I know of for this type of error: First, you do have a legal license for Pro Plus. In reply to Rohn’s post on October 17, Thank you for your response.
